Obituary of Giovanna Spiritoso

Giovanna Spiritoso (nee Tirrito), age 81 of Cherry Hill, passed away at her home on June 11, 2023.  She was born on May 28, 1942 in Enna, Sicily, Italy to the late Paolo and Giuseppina (nee Cammarata) Tirrito.

Beloved wife of the late Gaetano Spiritoso; Devoted mother of Elena and her husband Eugene LaRovere, and Giovanni Spiritoso; Loving Nonna to Giovanni Gaetano and Joshua Pacelli; Dear sister of Paola (Paolo) Pastorelli, Rosa (Mario) LaPorta, Tanina (late Angelo) Biondo, Nino (Antonia) Tirrito, Giovanni (Graziella) Tirrito, Graziella (late Carlo) Rampello and brother in law Paolo(late Filippa)Scavuzzo; dear sister in law of Rita (late Joe) Spiritoso and Rosa (late Tony) Attanasio.  She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Giovanna came to the United States in 1974, settling in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.  She spent over 25 years as a seamstress with Pincus Brothers in Philadelphia.  She cherished spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandson; and enjoyed cooking for everyone. crocheting, gardening and travelling back to Italy to spend time with her family.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Wednesday from 8:30 to 10:30 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at the Church of St. Stephen, 6300 Browning Road in Pennsauken.  Entombment will follow at New St. Mary's Mausoleum in Bellmawr.
