Obituary
Obituary of Ismael Rodriguez
On April 22, 2021, Ismael (Ish) Rodriguez Jr. went home to be with our Lord and Savior. Ismael was born July 28, 1947 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico to Rafaela and Ismael Rodriguez, Sr.
As a young child Ismael loved sports. Baseball was his most favorite sport of all. He played baseball for many teams in Camden, New Jersey and leagues outside of Camden as well. Many people jokingly called him “Pete Rose” because he resembled him. His favorite team was the LA Dodgers and he was so happy they won the championship this year.
Ismael went to high school at Camden High School and he graduated in 1966. Shortly after high school he enrolled into the U.S. Navy.
In 1971, Ismael met the love of his life, Lita Burgos. They dated for one year and were married on June 20, 1972. Together they share two sons, Ismael Rodriguez, III who sadly passed away and Ismael Rodriguez, IV born December 9, 1976.
Ismael loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed our yearly 4th of July vacations in Wildwood, New Jersey. He was always at the family reunion and served as our treasurer every year. He also enjoyed weekly bingo with his wife and her family.
Ismael Rodriguez Jr. is survived by his wife Lita Rodriguez, his son and daughter-in-law Ismael Rodriguez, IV and Mayra Rodriguez; his grandsons Nicholas Rodriguez and Jeremiah Rodriguez and a granddaughter Jocelyn Rodriguez; two sisters Libertad Rodriguez and Debbie Rodriguez; three nephews Joey, Peanut, Michael and a niece Melissa. He also leaves behind many family members and friends.
