My deepest and heartfelt condolences to Ed's family, friends and co-workers. I know that the light and beautiful spirit he brought to so many will be sorely missed but I hope they find solace and warmth in the amazing memories he made so genurously. I had the honor of knowing him through my younger brother Michael who grew up with Ed's brother, Tom and the whole Corbett clan. I also worked during college at an elementary school in Camden with Ed. We spent weeks together, finding ways to entertain the kids (ranging in age from 6 to 12)---something that was effortless for Ed! He filled everyone and everything we did with incredible joy and made the days fly by (not an easy feat in swelting, humid tempatures with restless children) with games, dancing, singing and jokes. The kids loved him and so did I! I cannot remember ever loving a job, or looking forward more to going to work, than I did that summer and it was all because of him! Simply memorable! When I saw Ed years later, it was as if time had never passed--he still had that wonderful, infectious and magical childlike quality. He will be "forever young". RIP dear friend!

My deepest condolences to Ed’s family. Praying for the Corbett’s and their extended family. I really loved Ed. He was such a light whenever he was at CCHS. No matter the nonsense, he was always positive and especially enjoyed sharing his acting gift with our students. I’ll never forget the video of his students performing “The Sound of Sunshine” with outside of school students with exceptionalities. That’s how I’ll remember Ed, a sound of sunshine. Much love to you! - Bruck

My deepest condolences to all the Corbett family on this untimely loss. I met Ed on my first day in Louisville, where we were both in the Apprentice & Intern company for Actors Theatre of Louisville's 1985-86 season. He had the biggest heart, a quick wit, streetwise on the exterior but warm wonderment at his core. We bonded immediately and stayed in touch throughout his first stint in New York, while I worked as development director of the Wilma Theater in Philadelphia 1986-1990. I moved to San Francisco in 1990 and saw him in L.A. a few times, then reconnected with him in Philly in recent years, as I've been helping my elderly aunt in Queen Village. The last time we got together was in January 2020 for brunch at Cafe Brûlée, which we dubbed Cafe Flan because the creme brulee was not quite up to Ed's standard! I'm so saddened by and sorry for this loss.

To the Corbett clan,
Ed was such a dear friend and much like a brother to me. In fact, in my own family we lovingly referred to him as the "fourth Boyd brother". I am in such shock about this, Ed was just too young to leave us.
I have been living in Tokyo for 35 years now, and in the past 20 years I have not returned to the East Coast much. Regretfully I have not hung out with Ed in a long time. But recently getting back in touch with him via Facebook, I thought we would soon re-connect and have more good times. Sadly, his will never happen.
Last night, I lit a candle in his honor. But it made me laugh as well as cry as the tall candle was a bit bowed. It was the only one I had in my home. But I thought if Ed saw it, he would jokingly say, "yeah, that's the kind of candle I would expect".
My heart goes out to all.
Take care,
Torin Boyd

You said it beautifully and described Eddie perfectly! We were so saddened to learn of his untimely passing! God wanted him to help brighten Heaven a little more.
You are in our thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time! Praying your tears will eventually fade into those Irish smiles as your fond lifetime memories help to comfort you and heal your hearts!
I will be away and will not be able to be at the services, but please know I will be with you in thought and prayers as you send Eddie off in a way that pays tribute to his life well lived!
All our condolences! We will miss his wonderful personality and infectious smile! RIP Eddie!
