Obituary of Juan B. Ortiz

Juan Bautista Ortiz, age 67 of Woodlynne, passed away suddenly at his home on December 5, 2020. He was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on September 18, 1953 to his parents Antonio Ortiz and Gloria Maria Rosa. He is the beloved husband of Awilda (nee Santiago); devoted father of Juan E. Ortiz, Antonio O. Ortiz (Priscilla), Damaris Ortiz (Mariusz Sitarz), and Ruben Ortiz; loving grandfather of Juan D. Ortiz, Tiana L. Ortiz, Madalyn Castillo, Anna L. Ortiz, Jemma P. Ortiz, Cynthia Sitarz, and Nina M. Ortiz; dear brother of Antonio Ortiz Jr., Maria Helena Ortiz, Awilda Ortiz, Marta Ortiz and Luis Ortiz. He is also survived by countless nieces and nephews. Juan graduated from Ponce High School and came to New Jersey in 1982. He always dabbled in auto mechanics and eventually obtained his certification in the field. He worked at City Select Auto as a repair technician for around 35 years. Juan was a humble soul and a person who would give you the shirt off his back. Anytime you needed him, he would be there no matter what time of day. No questions asked. His children and grandchildren were his most prized possessions, and he was so proud of each and every one of them. Due to current Covid conditions, all services are being handled privately at the request of the family. A memorial service may be announced at a later date.
