Obituary of Mattie Mae Jackson
Mattie Mae Jackson was born on March 21, 1925 in Americus, GA to the late Annie Mae and Robert Daniel. She departed this life on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the age of 94. Mattie was married to the late Todd Jackson Sr. of Americus, GA and was the mother of three children, Todd Jackson, Jr., Ms. Willie M. Taylor and Willie L. Jackson. Mattie retired as a dietary aide from Cherry Hill Hospital now known as Jefferson Hospital. During the last few years of her life, she received nurturing care at St. Mary’s Care Center in Cherry Hill, NJ.
Mattie was the fourth of nine siblings and was affectionately known as, Mom Mae, by family members. She loved listening to music, cooking, quilting, gardening and family gatherings. During her younger years, she would cook her delicious southern dishes that her family looked forward to.
She was pre-deceased by her two sons, Todd Jackson Jr. and Willie L. Jackson; four brothers Willie Roy Daniel, Robert Lee Daniel, Bosie McArthur Daniel, Eddie Clifford Daniel and one sister, Mary Sue Daniel. She leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Ms. Willie M. Taylor, two brothers Ulyses Daniel of Cincinnati, Ohio and Nathaniel Daniel (Mary) of New Jersey, one sister, Minnie Blasingame of Cincinnati, Ohio and daughter-in-law Mary Jackson of Fairless Hills, PA. Mattie was the loving grandmother of Todd Jackson III, Michael Jackson, Alesha Taylor, Anthony Jackson, Charlene Jackson, Collen Jackson and Tyrone Taylor Jr.; great-grandmother of 11 and great-great-grandmother of 2. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 from 9 to 11 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Harleigh Cemetery in Camden.
